Route 66 Raceway will once again host the popular Team Demolition Derby.

Team-Style Demo Derby Racing: Team demo style racing is fast and catastrophic, with 50 mph head-on collisions, heavy side swipes and cars totaled in just one hit. Team demo always has eight teams. Each team has four cars, squaring off two teams at a time, in a round-robin until there's a winner. To win the evening's event, the team must win three rounds.

The one-of-a-kind Team Demolition Derby will have four events at Route 66 Raceway with the fourth event serving as the Finals. Team Demos are a Saturday night favorite for fans who want to see an adrenaline pumping two hour spectacular where eight pro teams face off in what can only be described as roller derby with automobiles.

CHICAGO – The World Sumo League (WSL), a worldwide sports organization that promotes professional Sumo matches at first-class venues in countries all over the world, will bring an explosive evening of Sumo bouts and breathtaking Japanese-inspired pageantry to the Allstate Arena, on Saturday, May 27, 2006. Presented by Live Nation, tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 28, 2006 at 10 a.m.

Featuring Sumo wrestling bouts driven by the sounds of traditional Taiko drum music and interspersed with thrilling Cirque du Soleil style performances evoking the traditional Japanese origins of the sport, the WSL Mega Tour promises to be a highly entertaining evening for the entire family. The WSL Mega Tour will include many of the world's best Sumo wrestlers from countries including Japan, Mongolia, Poland, Germany, Bulgaria, the United States, Great Britain, Republic of Georgia, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Hungary and Norway. The Sumo wrestlers will be competing for total prize money of more than $1,000,000. The ultimate winner will be crowned the World Sumo League Champion at the Finals on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Last year, the first World Sumo League Finals in Madison Square Garden were taped and subsequently televised on the ESPN Networks in December 2005 and March 2006.

Dedicated to presenting Sumo wrestling all over the globe as a first-class professional sport, the WSL Mega Tour competitions are spectacular events presented in dramatic fashion. Although the event contains all the spirituality and mystique inherent in traditional Sumo wrestling, it is punctuated by spectacular special effects as well as live music provided by Taikoza, a thunderous percussion group that features taiko drums – large barrel-like drums that produce a magnificent sound – creating a visual and audio treat for spectators.

Andersonville Midsommarfest, now in its 41st year, is one of the region's most eagerly anticipated and well established summer festivals. Each year approximately 50,000 people gather on Clark Street to enjoy great international food, stellar family activities, lively entertainment on four stages and over 100 quality artisans showcasing their wares.

Midsommarfest is one of Chicago’s most unique street fairs. Born out of Andersonville's Swedish heritage, Midsommarfest retains its quaint, international flavor. Old-world Swedish traditions, including a festive dance around the Maypole, are incorporated into an unrivaled array of entertainment for families and adults. A special family area includes face painting, games and a family stage which has showcased entertainment such as the Jesse White Tumblers, Nordic Folk dancers, a pet parade and much more in past years. The other two stages are filled all day with spirited music, including nationally-renowned acts, guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.

The quaint little Swedish "village" of Andersonville features some of Chicago's most intriguing shops and a wonderful array of international eateries. The 41st Annual Midsommarfest will take place in the heart of Andersonville on Saturday and Sunday, June 10th & 11th from 11:00 AM until 10:00PM.
