The Cream of Wheaton Festival begins with the 27th Annual “Run for the Animals” 5K-10K race which is hosted by The Cosley Foundation, Inc. to raise funds for the development of new wildlife exhibits at Cosley Zoo. This is a CARA registered and champion chip timed race.

Bring your baskets to the zoo for a hopping good time! Before the egg hunt we’ll have live animal presentations, crafts and stories. Children are divided into groups for the hunt. Preregistration is required. This event is held rain or shine. Registration deadline is Mar. 13. This is not a dropoff program; please plan on staying with your child.

If your pet has a medical emergency will you be prepared? This course, taught by an American Red Cross certified instructor, will cover Pet First Aid and CPR techniques. The emphasis will be on cats and dogs. Cat and dog manikins will be used. Please do not bring your pet to class. The course length is 4 hours. The course fee of $40 includes all course materials.

To pre-register call Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 ext. 344. Payment must be made with in two weeks after the date of pre-registration. All classes will be held in The Anti-Cruelty Society Education and Training Center located at 169 W. Grand Avenue. Free Parking is available in The Anti-Cruelty Society parking garage. Enter from Wells Street.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be received at least one week prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund. No shows without prior notice will not be refunded.

The Anti-Cruelty Society's Volunteers will host a bake sale in the Adoption Lobby with all donations received to benefit the animals. Come and enjoy home-made cookies, cakes and other assorted baked goods! All items are a suggested donation of $.50.

Introduction to Canine Massage

This class is FULL.

Pet Massage Therapist, Pam Kuhn, will explain the health benefits of pet massage and demonstrate some of the techniques used. The emphasis will be on canine massage. Participants will be allowed to bring their dogs to this class. Following the demonstration, participants will practice beginning techniques on their dogs with assistance from the instructor. Dogs should be current on vaccinations and sociable with other dogs in order to participate. Pre-registration is required. There is a 20 dog/handler limit for this class.

The Anti-Cruelty Society presents the Winter 2007/2008 Lecture Series. Lecture Series events are free of charge.
